May 30, 2020, 3:51 PM

These questions relate to the sermon on 31 May 2020, Pentecost.  The primary passage is Acts 2:1-13, 37-38.

1.  What was the significance of the Day of Pentecost before the Acts 2 event?

2.  Where were the disciples told to wait for the coming of the Spirit?

3.  How many believers do we know of prior to the Acts 2 event?  How many by the end of the chapter?

4.  What is the significance of the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost?  Why was it important?

5.  What were the audible and visible signs of the Spirit that day?

6.  How do those signs connect to symbols of wind and fire in scripture?

7.  The reason for the Spirit coming that day and the reason he indwells believers today is the same.  What is the purpose of the filling of God's Spirit?

8.  Who can be filled with the Spirit?

9.   If the Spirit indwells believers, why do we say we need to be filled with the Spirit?

10.  How does that happen?  What can we do?
