These questions relate to the message, April 5, 2020, Encountering Jesus: The Walk to Emmaus. (Luke 24:13-35) Hopefully these questions will help with family discussion.
- What day did the walk to emmaus take place? (Look at Luke 24)
- Why do you think these two disciples left Jerusalem after they heard, and did not believe, that Jesus was raised from the dead?
- How did Cleopas and the other disciple describe who Jesus was? What is the significance of their description?
- Spend some time thinking and talking about places in the Old Testament that could be some of prophesies Jesus talked with these disciples about.
- Why is it important that jesus opened the scriptures to these disciples?
- What did the disciples do when they discovered Jesus had been walking and talking with them?
- How would you respond if you discovered you had been talking with Jesus?
- This encounter with Jesus took these disciples from feeling hopeless to joyful. How has encountering Jesus changed your life?
